STAFF ACCOUNTANT | JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The accountant position is responsible for processing payable and receivables; helping with filing taxes; processing purchase orders and other miscellaneous tasks related to accounting. The accountant is also responsible for handlings various disbursements.
Essential Functions
● Maintain accurate accounts receivable customer files
● Prepare bank deposits
● Investigate and resolve customer queries
● Communicate with customers via phone, email, mail, or personally
● Prepare and process customer invoices
● Complete Ticket processing to ensure billing is up-to-date
● Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities
● Reconcile and monitor customer accounts, including non- or delayed payments
and other irregularities
● Process accounts payable invoices for payment
● Generate Accounts Payable and refund checks
● Research vendor statements, phone calls, and discrepancies
● Maintain Asset Management records including depreciate schedules
● Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to
entry/payment
● Answer vendor inquiries
● Maintain accounts payable reports and spreadsheets
● Prepare analysis of accounts receivable and accounts payable balances, as
required
● Reconcile various General Ledger Accounts and prepare adjusting entries
● Reconcile credit card accounts to statements
● Assist Controller with other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and Skills
1. Strong communication written and verbal
2. Excellent multi-tasking ability and attention to detail
3. Works well in team environment
4. Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
5. Proficient in relevant computer applications, including MS Word and Excel
6. 1-3 years of accounts receivables, accounts payable, and general accounting
experience
7. Manufacturing experience preferred
